Hi, I'm Sylvia, I'm a wedding and events photographer. I've been photographing since about 1978, mainly family parties, weddings, people, places and wildlife. I worked for a law enforcement agency for several years that allowed me the opportunity to work in a black & white dark room. This is where I developed all kinds of photographic skills and I learned my basics. I've learned many techniques on my own, but here lately, I've worked with other wedding and wildlife pros refining a skill that has been given to me by God. People have always remarked that I make beautiful photos, but I tell them, "God makes the beautiful photos, I'm only His instrument."

My passion is wedding photography, but I also enjoy the great outdoors photographing wildlife. I love sharing the photos through my website with family, friends and folks that are too busy to notice nature around them. I've had folks thank me for sharing my photos and allowing them to see what God has blessed us with.

I competed in a major wildlife photo contest in 2007 and won first place in one of the 53 classes (categories). I will be participating in the 2009 Coastal Bend Wildlife Photo Contest here in South Texas, going out in the field on weekends, tracking down critters and testing the new skills I learned from Wildlife Pros in 2008. Some of my nature photos have appeared in the Bee County Coastal Bend College calendar.

I especially enjoy photographing weddings and other events. It's a blessing to be able to capture someone's special day, to record it and to be a part of it, so the folks involved can see what it was like when they were too busy to notice the fine details going on around them. And that is what happens when one gets married, you're having to get ready so you're relying on several other folks to ensure your plans are met. A photographer is there to capture the moments that you share as bride and groom, plus the details that you couldn't keep up with. Let's face it, your wedding is probably one of the most stressful days you will ever experience.

God has blessed me with a truly remarkable gift to share with others, the work I do testifies for itself. Currently, I don't have a studio, I love to shoot engagement or portraits on location, which can make for beautiful and "real" backdrops. So if you want a beach, we go to a beach, if you want a river scene, we find a nice river, if you want photos shot around the comfort of your home, I go to your home. I do work full time during the week at another job, but if you'd like to use me as your photographer on the weekends, just know that I will do the utmost to make your day just as special as anyone else would.

I don't have alternate photographers to help me, it's just me. I might have someone to assist me from time to time, but more than likely it will be me helping to record your memories. If you choose me, I will attempt to make your special day even better by capturing those beautiful moments that you want to see as you grow older with each other.
